Originally founded by the Cornes family, Gympie Funeral Services through its local ownership has had a long tradition of providing funeral care for the Gympie and surrounding district since 1931.

In keeping with a desire to maintain the highest standard of funeral care, Gympie Funeral Services has seen many upgrades to its current building at 236 Brisbane Road Gympie.

The new facilities, in addition to our funeral home, also incorporates a crematorium and memorial gardens.

Established in 1931

• Horse-drawn funeral carriage until motorised around 1928.
• First hearse, a Chrysler was purchased from Brisbane and had to be driven to Gympie over torturous roads through Dalby and Kingaroy as the Brisbane roads was too bad for a vehicle with so much class.
